Um... hello?

Anybody there? I wouldn't blame you at all if you aren't. I mean, it's my blog, and I haven't even been here in an embarrassingly long time.

But if you are there, you'll be happy to know that although I've fallen off the face of the blogosphere, I haven't actually fallen off the face of the planet. In fact, aside from my utter lack of blogging, I'm doing pretty fantastically. I've just been unbelievably busy - take a look at what's on my plate:
1. Work - typically I spend 12 hours a week day either at work or getting to/from it
2. Grad class - lots of math I can handle, teaching myself C++ is quite a trick, though. And it's a time sink, since it's sucked up something on the order of 12-15 hours a week.
3. Dancing - I've been spending one or two evenings a week swing dancing. It's the bees knees.
4. Fundamentals of Engineering - the exam is in just over two weeks and I am so sick of studying for it. And by studying, I mean relearning everything I haven't thought about in four years.
5. Mr. Darcy - possibly the real reason that I haven't been knitting (much) or blogging (at all) is that I've been spending nearly every free waking moment (and probably a few that aren't free) with a gentleman we'll call Mr. Darcy.

Good news for blogging, though: I just got a spiffy new laptop that is way faster than my desktop, in addition to being more happily compatible with such things as my camera, and a million times more portable. So, despite the fact that I don't know where in my average week I'll find the time (I've been thinking lately that sleep is vastly overrated. Actually, even when I was really little, I didn't like sleeping since I was convinced that if I was asleep, I'd miss something interesting.), but I think there's a pretty good chance that I'll be going back to semi-regular blogging. I'm thinking once a week would be a pretty good start. And then maybe twice, post FE.

So, even though I've completely blown my New Year's resolutions about commenting and blogging frequency, there's still the possibility of meeting the one about real fiber content. Even though I have been doing some knitting, I don't have any pictures of it (they're all on the other computer still). Instead, I give you my oldest WIP:

The beginnings of a Twisted Bargello quilt that I started 8 or 9 years ago. I really like the pattern, and I love the colors I chose, and really, I think it will look awesome finished. I just haven't had any sewing motivation in ages. And at the moment, my machine is buried under yarn, so it'll be a while yet before I get to it. But it's on the list!

I'se still hanging in here. Have missed you, but figured you were getting on with life. That quilt will be gorgeous when it's finished - I love the color choices you've made, and the fabbies work really well together. Mr. Darcy, hmmmm? Shall we start knitting white lace goodies? Whatever - be happy!

Will hope you'll manage to get a bit more blog time in, with your neat new toy.

I was beginning to worry that you'd fallen off the face of the earth. Now it seems that I should wonder if you've jumped off the edge of the world with Mr. Darcy.

Lynne might be right. Is white lace in your future? Man, I don't even know how to knit lace. Is crochet okay?

Squee! You're back! I need something to read while I'm pretending to do research for my papers this semester.

And I like the quilt. Its very pretty. And inspiring. Which is not what I need but I like it regardless.

Glad you're still out there. I missed reading your writing. Very pretty quilting too. Is there no end to your talents?
