I am normally pretty unsentimental about this holiday, but this year I'm feeling particularly bitter (like bad coffee, not dark chocolate). But I refuse to succumb to such feelings, which is why I have something remarkably sentimental for you.
About this time last year, things seemed to be going wonderfully, and in a fit of sentimentality, I came up with the pattern. Oddly enough, the name that I picked then is even more fitting for my current mood: Smoldering Hearts.
The pattern is available as a .pdf on Ravelry, for your enjoyment.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go see if I can find some dark chocolate. And maybe some red wine. And definitely a Cary Grant movie.

Another 2008 FO
You'd think I'd be done with those by now, wouldn't you? But no. I'm just not that on top of things. :-)
For Christmas, my youngest sister got Nutkins:
They're pretty heavily modified - I did ribbed rather than picot cuffs, reversed half the fake cables, knit them top down, and did an eye of the partridge heel flap. These were fun to knit, but they were surprisingly unstretchy. I had to add about 20% to my usual stitch count (for the same size, gauge, and needles).
Next time, if I can manage it, I'll wrap up the 2008 knitting. And if not, maybe you'll get to see a bit of 2009! (now that it's well into February...)
